Lifting
You Can Pull Through This
If the deadlift is awesome (a statement most of us can agree with), doesn’t it also stand to reason that different types of deadlifts are also awesome? How much greater would those variations be if they actually helped your primary deadlift, a.k.a. Daddy Awesome, grow even bigger?
Well, try to contain yourself, because you’re about to find out. These 10 variations on the classic deadlift are great in and of themselves and will also boost the total tonnage you can move on your conventional deadlift. Get stronger by getting stronger? Who’d have thunk it?
Among this list, you will find some true all-stars of the accessory-lifting world. You're not limited to barbell lifts like rack pulls and Romanian deadlifts, either. As useful as those are, you can also get a ton of leverage out of cable pull-throughs, landmine attachments, and trap bars to boost your pulling PR.
The world always needs more deadlifts, so chalk up, strap in, and fill the Earth with even more tuggable joy than you thought possible.

Programming
To Split or Not to Split?
When you’re walking through the trials and tribulations of life in the gym, certain metaphysical questions are almost guaranteed to pass through your head. Is the true nature of lifting best expressed in pounds or kilos? Is the squat a benevolent king or a tyrant? Is it just or unjust for the populace to bear arms in a string tank top?
Of at least equal importance is the most common query of them all: Should I be training my full body every workout or break my week up into body-part splits? Rather than taking the 21st-century model of moralizing every daily decision, it might be best to understand the relative merits each style of training has during each phase of your training life.
An advanced lifter may need to spend more time training individual body parts when trying to increase hypertrophy (meaning a body-part split would be necessary). An intermediate strength athlete, on the other hand, might progress more by using a full-body system.
Your programming model doesn’t define who you are, but choosing the right way to load your body can absolutely speed up or stall your progress toward greatness.

How the New U.S. Travel Ban Could Impact Bodybuilding
On June 4, 2025, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation banning foreign nationals from 12 countries from entering the United States. The ban officially took effect on June 9.
While there are exemptions for athletes traveling to the U.S. for major competitions, we don’t know exactly which sports are covered. This ban could potentially impact the bodybuilding season in a big way, which is important to note as the 2025 Mr. Olympia competition draws closer.
