A Sly Physique

Sylvester Stallone is no stranger to getting in sick shape for a blockbuster film role. One of the action-movie genre stalwarts, Sly has spent his entire career flexing his ample muscle on camera. Some of Stallone’s training even came on set, as evidenced by the raw intensity of his famous training montages that still help amp up lifters to this day.

Not a bodybuilder like fellow meaty action heroes Steve Reeves and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stallone got so enthused with his starring role in Rocky that he trained for endless hours every day to perfect the boxer’s physique.

The body Stallone brought to each role changed with the character and the needs of the movie (think Rocky’s athletic physique vs. Rambo’s action-figure look), but his training intensity and faith in his diet were something that never changed. Learn all about his dedication to his physical craft and the incredible musculature he was able to develop.

Breon It On

Two-time Men’s Classic Physique champion Breon Ansley is getting ready to switch to the 212 division, but he’s not going quietly. After a judge was critical of his leg development at the recent Arnold Classic show, Ansley is back in the gym with a plan to make his weakness a strength.

While his muscle mass was more than adequate, he found he was losing too much mass during the extreme weight cut bodybuilders go through to get as shredded as possible. A high-level athlete, Ansley is less concerned with piling on more muscle than he is in refining the look of his legs to come up to par with his upper body.

A fast-paced workout with intensity follows, with Ansley’s commentary on what he believes is the best way to pump his legs up to reach his goals. Leg training is never easy, and this workout just goes to show how demanding it can be.
