What's up! A Happiest of Fridays all around. As you head into the weekend, here's what you should know in the strength sports sphere.

Chris "CBum" Bumstead outlines a robust off-season diet with the Mr. Olympia inching, slowly, on the horizon.

With the World's Strongest Man right around the corner in Sacramento, it's essential to know the who, what, where, when, and why.

Good hygiene and maintenance will never you or other lifters let down. So, yes: You should properly clean your barbells

Chris Bumstead is chasing greatness. With three straight Classic Physique Olympia titles (2019-2021), the champion bodybuilder is no stranger to pushing boundaries. That's both in the gym and in the kitchen.

On May 15, 2022, "CBum" shared his latest "full day of eating" with us over his YouTube Channel. And it's precisely what you'd expect as he pushes toward the 2022 Mr. Olympia in mid-December. Throughout five separate meals, Bumstead packs his day with calories (5,000-plus!) that include very generous helpings of protein and carbs. All in all, it helps comprise the fuel of one of bodybuilding's true elite.

From a simple morning cup of Joe centered around fortifying the immune system to seemingly countless portions of ground turkey, we have another reminder of why Bumstead has such a stellar physique.

How to Keep Tabs on the 2022 World's Strongest Man

We won't mince words. We can't contain our hype for the start of the 2022 World's Strongest Man (WSM) next week — which runs from May 24-29, 2022, in Sacramento, CA. There's something poetic about seeing those Atlas Stones put into their rightful place by some of the world's strongest people.

If you're heading out to Sacramento for the controlled chaos, you should know the WSM organization is putting on a lovely party for fans. For the first time, there'll be a (free!) Fan Festival marked by food trucks, special events, and all sorts of goodies.

If you want to stay in the loop otherwise, former vet strongman Terry Hollands is hosting Backstage Live! Presented by The Beard Struggle — a live show that will air on WSM’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Hollands will give fans complete recaps of each day's events and exclusive inside access to some of the athletes and other notable folks.

Equipment

We have more responsibilities in the gym than simply pushing for our gains at all costs. Everyone in the gym deserves to know what it feels like to pick up and use sanitary equipment while training. By that same token, they deserve to use well-maintained equipment.

Take, say, a barbell. As you well know, a barbell is an inanimate object that only comes to life when we're cleaning it (the lifting variation) or pressing it, among other activities. While it would be very cool (and maybe a bit creepy), a barbell cannot sanitize and maintain itself. It's up to us to take some accountability and leave it better than we found it for others.

We recently broke down how to properly clean a barbell because this isn't a simple one-step, wipe-down process. So get your trusty safety glasses and gloves in hand, and learn how to keep the barbells that you use pristine and strong for years to come
