🏋️an olympia-worthy shoulder routine

Soon enough, the weather will get colder, the leaves will fall off trees, and all your favorite foods will start to take on a distinct pumpkin spice flavor. But as the seasons change, we'll keep bringing you the latest and greatest in strength news.

Nick Walker is one of bodybuilding's most prominent young stars. The 28-year-old recently trained with an established cornerstone, Brandon Curry, in a demanding meeting of some very strong minds.

With each passing year, Giants Live seemingly only grows in prestige in the strongman sphere. Here are the events you'll see at October's Giants Live World Tour Finals.

You're trying to launch your exercise routine into the stratosphere. Why not do it with some good old-fashioned thruster workouts?

After a stellar debut season in 2021 that saw him win the New York Pro and the Arnold Classic and take fifth place at the Mr. Olympia, all eyes are on the young Nick Walker this year. The bodybuilder many refer to as "The Mutant" knows there are high expectations on him, including the possibility of capturing his first-ever Olympia trophy this December.

Few people have as much to teach Walker as Brandon Curry, who won the Olympia in 2019 and was the runner-up in 2021. It's only fitting that these two shredded athletic freaks trained together in an "Olympian Shoulder Workout" late last week. By the end of a routine that featured countless pec-decks and lat raises, Curry made it clear where he'll stand with his younger peer at this year's Olympia.

"Backstage, we'll be kicking it," Curry said to Walker. "Onstage, we'll be battling. You know how that goes."

Giants Live has been a tentpole organizing body in strongman for years now. And the next significant event on the competition calendar is this year's Giants Live World Tour Finals, set to take place on October 8, 2022, in Glasgow, Scotland. To get fans ready for the feats of strength that lie ahead, the organization recently revealed the events the elite athletes will participate in:

  • Dumbbell Press

  • Nicol Stone Carry

  • Axle Deadlift

  • Anchor Carry and Chain Drag

  • Power Stairs

Luke Stoltman, the defending champ, will face off against a field that includes his brother, Tom; Oleksii Novikov, who just set a new world record in the Hummer Tire Deadlift; Trey Mitchell, winner of the 2022 Shaw Classic; and plenty of other behemoths.

As a staple movement in CrossFit, the thruster has such versatility that it can be adjusted to any athlete's fitness level. If you want an all-encompassing way to tackle your leg power, shoulder flexibility, and general mobility, then finding the right thruster could be the path to more sweet gains.

And don't worry, we've broken down all of the thruster choices on a beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. You'll kill two birds with one stone — in this case, strength and endurance — quite easily.
