🏋️ save big with the best black friday deals on supplements
We're stuffing this Thanksgiving week newsletter with the latest fitness news and workout tips and topping it all off with a side of must-have deals. (And if you need a nap afterward, we won't judge.)
Don't look now, but Heather Connor hit yet another deadlift PR in training — and this one is more than 20 pounds over her existing world record. Be honest: Are you even surprised?
A shakeup has hit the top of the Giants Live World's Strongest Nation competition. With the dust settled, Martins Licis is now the captain of Team USA, replacing Robert Oberst.
With the biggest shopping day of the year just around the corner, you don't want to be unprepared. Thankfully, we've rounded up the best Black Friday deals on supplements.
Heather Connor Does It Again
Powerlifter Heather Connor is an excellent example of someone who was seemingly born to deadlift.
Late last week, while using a sumo stance and lifting belt, Connor successfully locked out a raw 202.5-kilogram (446.4-pound) deadlift during a training session. The lift is a personal record for Connor, regardless of setting, by over six pounds. This feat also surpasses her current world record in the 47-kilogram weight class by 9.8 kilograms (21.6 pounds).
"I’ve waited a long time for this," Connor wrote on Instagram. Sheesh. Who knows what insane lift might be next if Connor had this in her crosshairs for a while?
Martins Licis Takes the Captain's Wheel
We were supposed to see a battle between Eddie Hall's Team UK and Robert Oberst's Team USA next weekend at the 2022 Giants Live World's Strongest Nation competition. Alas, as everyone knows, the best-laid plans of strongmen often go awry.
With Oberst withdrawing due to undisclosed reasons, Team USA will now have living titan Martins Licis act as the American captain in Liverpool. As far as substitutions go, you can't ask for much better. After all, Licis is just months removed from a first-place finish at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic.
