🏋️ strongwoman's latest 576-pound world record

It's the last Friday of September, with the frights of a spooky October around the corner. We'll help you be brave by showing off some fearless athletes in strength sports.

Rhianon Lovelace isn't shy about using her strength. After notching another mind-bending record, she more than earned the spotlight to use as she pleases.

Ken "Flex" Wheeler's one of the greatest figures in bodybuilding history. He'll soon receive the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award for his diligent efforts in and around the sport.

It might seem hellish at first, but the devil's press can be your boon to excellent training progress.

When it comes to a strongwoman like Rhianon Lovelace, the paraphrased words of Uncle Ben Parker do her prowess justice: With great expectations come incredible lifts.

During the 2022 Arnold Strongman UK last weekend, Lovelace outdid herself when she successfully locked out a 261.5-kilogram (576.5-pound) Axle deadlift. The athlete's pull is a World Record in both the heavyweight and 64-kilogram weight classes. Oh yeah, that's an incredible lift.

To celebrate her latest achievement, Lovelace shared a jubilant thought about the future of the sport on her Instagram.

“We are witnessing the dawn of a new era of Strongwoman!” Lovelace wrote. “A time where the best Women are welcomed to the biggest stages in the sport, witnessed by thousands. The rise of strongwomen!”

Ken "Flex" Wheeler might be retired from competitive bodybuilding, but he's still winning prestigious awards.

In some of the bigger non-competition news from the 2022 Arnold Sports Festival UK, Wheeler will receive the 2023 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. First doled out in 2000, the award recognizes an individual who has made tremendous contributions to bodybuilding and the fitness world. A four-time Arnold Classic champion (1993, 1997-1998, 2000), Wheeler will receive the recognition around the time of next March's Arnold Classic.

Wheeler's accomplishments on the stage aren't the only reason he's getting this honor. As a current coach of young rising stars like Andrew Jacked and steward of general fitness, there might not be a better person for this prize.

A Press Fit for the Devil

When you head to the gym, you probably want your meat and potatoes first. The squat. The bench press. The deadlift. But if you're going to challenge your body in other more unconventional (but accessible!) ways, then we'd urge you to try out the devil's press.

The devil's press is a full-body movement that combines a typical burpee and a double dumbbell snatch in one rep. It's terrific for anyone who wants to up their strength, flexibility, and endurance in one. From proper technique to the many different variations, we break it all down. And don't worry: It's just a name!
